In the Spring 2024 issue of Harrowsmith magazine, a reader named Beth was given a signed copy of Dan Needles’ new book, Finding Larkspur: A Return to Village Life for writing to us to share her family tradition of making tourtière every holiday, and to let us know that she enjoyed making our mini version of the classic.
In this issue, we are pleased to give away not just one, not two, but THREE more signed copies of Finding Larkspur to readers Kim and Ted Boczkur, Sandy Spalvieri and Theresa Lockerbie. (To read Dan’s latest story for Harrowsmith, turn to page 80.)
Here’s what each of the winners had to say:
“I just wanted to say how much my husband and I enjoy your magazine. Harrowsmith is read from front to back, then re-read. In this Spring issue, it was so nice to read Dan Needles. I truly miss his articles in each magazine. That was always the first thing I read, then onto the rest of the magazine. Wish he could come back.”
—Kim & Ted Boczkur
“I was talking to a woman I knew from high school, and it turns out her name is Heath and she had married Dan Needles—small world!”
—Sandy Spalvieri
“I was so excited to see the article on Dan Needles. I subscribed to Harrowsmith back when he wrote the Wingfield Farm series. When Harrowsmith arrived in my mailbox, the first page I would go to was that story to see what antics were happening on the Ninth Line. I thoroughly enjoyed this series and was sad when it was no longer. Thank you for all those wonderful years on the Ninth Line.”
—Theresa Lockerbie
