A Message From The Publisher | Spring 2020 | Harrowsmith Magazine

A Note From The Publisher

The subject of food security, is something we always address in our magazine whether you have a balcony garden in the city or acreage in the country, growing your own food has never seemed more relevant than it is today.

A transcript of Yolanda Thornton’s message:

My name is Yolanda Thornton Publisher at Harrowsmith.

The past several weeks are unlike anything we’ve ever experienced and the challenges that individuals are facing on a personal and business level are huge. While it’s going to take some time, we’ll get through it together because the Harrowsmith community is a tight-knit one because our readers connected in unique ways a long time ago and continue to stay connected through the ideas we share.

The subject of food security, is something we always address in our magazine whether you have a balcony garden in the city or acreage in the country, growing your own food has never seemed more relevant than it is today.

We wanted to do our part in this time of need and uncertainty and to be involved in the most relevant way.

Helping Canadians for whom food security is a daily issue seemed a natural fit.

At this time, for every regular priced subscription to Harrowsmith, we will make a $5.00 donation to Food Banks Canada.

At Harrowsmith, people are our greatest resource and as a Harrowsmith community member we know you’ll appreciate our support behind this worthy initiative.

Our role here as a magazine is varied, but above all else, we hope you find inspiration in our pages to help you move through this trying time with the energy and optimism that spring always brings.

From my home to yours, stay well, stay safe and stay positive. Thank you.
