Bug Repellant

Shake bottle thoroughly before each use.

This is a reprint from Harrowsmith 2001

EQUIPMENT:

Small wire whistk

Measuring cups and spooks

Spray bottles, empty and thoroughly washed

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup witch hazel (240ml)

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (15 ml)

1 tbsp citronella essential oil (15 ml)

1/2 tsp lavender essential oil (2.5 ml)

1/4 tsp eucalyptus essential oil (1.2 ml)

1/4 tsp tea tree essential oil (1.2 ml)

1/2 tsp peppermint essential oil (1.2 ml)

1/4 tsp lemon grass essential oil (1.2 ml)

3/4 tsp evening primrose oil or olive oil (3.7 ml)

METHOD:

  1. Mix all ingredients
  2. Pour into the spray bottles
  3. Contents can settle quickly, so mix again before pouring into each bottle
  4. Label each bottle clearly.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

Shake bottle thoroughly before each use.

Apply small quantities frequently to exposed skin.

Spray in your hands to apply to the face.

Reapply after swimming.
